  • I am thinking of going to the gym to gain muscle?
If you truly want to become bigger, stronger, faster you’ll lift weights. Decades of scientific research confirms and continues to support this. Even Broscience agrees!
  • I feel I can get an overall workout with my existing equipment at home?
If so, then great, stick with what you have. Personally one of the biggest benefits of the gym is the motivation and drive you get from seeing others work out and the extra ideas and being part of a community. Eventually you will outgrow your home gym and either have to spend money on more equipment or join a gym where someone has already laid out all the cash.
  • I do not want to sign up to a locked in contract, Gyms are dodgy!
Gyms are up there with dodgy cancellation practices and we have experienced this first hand previous to setting up a gym. That is why we have non contract options, we make sure you understand the terms and conditions prior to signing up and all that we require is a written email cancelling your membership we need 30 days notice. We also ask you to come into the gym and do an exit interview with us if you could, the reason for this is for us to receive feedback on your experience at Primal, we are always striving to be the best gym we can be.
  • I am concerned because I have put on so much weight everyone will stare at me?
“I weighed 96 kilos smoked and drank, I now weigh 80 kilos joining the gym saved my life it was hard work but worth it” No one judged me or cared, some even congratulated me as I was dropping the weight. Nick aged 47 “I could not shake the weight off after my second baby, I do two group fitness classes and one weight session per week and it is starting to come off love Dea’s classes” Everyone is on their own journey they cared but didn’t judge. Jane age secret “I have just started and was one of those nervous about joining I used to play a lot of footy but life took over I now have weight and health issues, since joining I have felt supported no one in the gym has judged me and I actually look forward to going now” My only regret is I didn’t join Primal earlier Lee aged 49 “I was tired of being skinny and getting nailed at footy so I joined the gym and my guns are getting bigger, footy has improved plus I have a girlfriend now” Ben aged 15 “I jump on the treadmill for 30 minutes then do 20 minutes of weights I listen to my music and am left alone love it” Em aged 19
  • I am really overweight and worried the gym is filled with super toned guys and girls.. Do they ever make you feel bad or stare and judge me being so overweight?
There are a lot of fit people in the gym but they have worked hard to achieve that and you would be surprised how many of them felt how you do now, and started when having weight to lose also. Anything in life worth having you have to work for, in saying that there are also overweight people in there trying to make their lives healthier also.
  • I currently walk almost everyday to keep up my fitness. I don't need to join a gym.
MMMMmmm yes and no. You probably enjoy your walk and it is good for your mental health however science continues to back a weight training program which keeps bones strong and healthy, starves off disease, improves strength and balance to live a full life.
  • Can I drink beer?
We don’t recommend beer as part of your pre workout ritual however if you have trained hard and earned a frothy then why the bloody hell not!
“The only limitations that you have in life are those that you impose on yourself”

Recently stayed for a few days in Benalla and just needed to keep up with our fitness journey, so my husband and I visited Primal three days in a row, each during for their open gym time. The space is large, bright and welcoming and the facilities and equipment are top notch- lots of bikes, treadmills, elypticals, weight machines, ergs (bike, row and ski), free weights (with Oly lifting platforms), kettlebells and so, so much more! Thanks for having us.

Next level! So far above any other gym I have ever been to. Locally owned and run, by some pretty amazing and unbelievably knowledgeable people. Could not recommend this place any higher.
