We work with you to design a training system, which will improve your self confidence and aid in work life balance. At Primal Health Club we will focus on improving your intellectual, physical and emotional health and wellbeing.

At Primal Health Club we are committed to preserving the character of an earlier age. We are dedicated to old fashioned values such as integrity, loyalty, respect and acknowledging the importance of our local community.

We are community focused and locally family owned, we provide many forms of training to meet a variety of needs. Our services range from rehabilitation through to elite performance. Strongman/women, Functional training for life, Specific Senior classes, Powerlifting, Sports specific programming, Weightlifting, PRIMAL HIT, Primal Fitness Training, Group classes or general health and wellbeing.

We have qualified staff with Paralympic Games, World Championships and Commonwealth Games experience. The world’s best in our local community. There is a space for everyone.

Team Primal are able to support a number of programs such as return to work, off site training, team building activities, education as well as some very unique organic programs.

Jasmine – Club Manager

Jasmine has been a part of the Primal team for three years. Starting her journey as a barista in the café to working her way to our club manager.

She has a great passion for health and fitness within the gym and for any outdoor activities. You can always find Jasmine looking for her next adventure or challenge.

Jasmine has a great enthusiasm for introducing and helping everyone make health and fitness a part of their life. Come and see Jasmine to help you get started on your fitness journey today or to support you to achieve your health goals.

Look out for Jasmine sweating it out in the club or keeping the Primal team in line.

Thomas – Personal Trainer

 

Thomas comes with loads of experience participating in local sports such as Football and basketball.

With a strong passion for all things health and fitness.  He has a special interest in strength training, everything sports-related.

If you are looking to improve your sports performance or increase your speed and endurance, Tom is the man for you.

Fully qualified and ready to roll Tom is pumped to help our members with their fitness goals.

Fabio – Personal Trainer

Give a warm welcome, to the Troop, our newest Primate, Fabio Originally from Columbia, Fabio has a diverse range of experience and knowledge we are excited to bring to the Primal Community!
Fabio’s passion for the holistic benefits of health and well-being has taken him in many different directions within the industry. Having an Honours in Psychology, Diploma in Hospitality, Qualified in Personal Training, Level 1 & 2 Sports Power Coach in Weightlifting, he’s got the skills and the “know how” to help you smash your health and fitness goals, and take your training to the next level.
In 2008 he opened a CrossFit box in Melbourne, which gave him the opportunity to encourage personal and professional growth not only for his members but also for his staff and himself. Having a passion for performance, Fabio encourages the best from everyone he works with, with the right attitude he will push you to a level you didn’t know you had within you!
Becoming a husband and father changed his outlook on life, and redirected where he prioritises his time. He moved to Benalla, with his family 3 years ago, to be a full-time dad and support his wife to peruse her career aspirations.
Apart from motivating others to be the best they can be, Fabio enjoys cooking, skateboarding and is a bit of a metalhead! Having a passion for learning and furthering himself, he starts studying Nutrition in March.
So if you are looking for a Coach to take your training to the next level, motivate you to be the best you can be and get you to recognize your power within, Fabio is your man

 

Sab- Dietflex coach 

We are so excited for this friendly and familiar face to be joining our team!

If Sab looks familiar to you, that’s probably because she’s been part of the furniture here at Primal Health Club! Sab has been a member with us for over a year now and actively makes an effort to get to the gym as part of her routine. 

Her training normally consists of small group training and she has recently started experimenting with group fitness. 

Sab is now taking on the role as a Diet Flex Coach. As a member who had experienced our club first hand, Sab understood our vision and the way we operate. A friendly, supportive, community environment.

Sab is excited to work with women and men, coaching them with their nutrition through our dietflex program and empowering them with the skills and knowledge to take their wellbeing into their own hands! Women supporting women achieve great things and this is definitely Sab’s outlook – we are so lucky to have her joining us.

We asked Sab why she was so passionate about our dietflex program to which she said “it is real food for real people, everyday ingredients which we already have. It’s a holistic approach which focuses on everything from weight loss, to our energy levels, but also how we feel overall which is so important!” 

Sab is so excited to help unleash their potential and become the best, healthiest and happiest version of themselves

Dea – Personal Trainer

She comes with a crazy 30 years of experience in Personal Training and Group Fitness, we could not ask for a better fit. Dea has a great passion for fitness. Being inspired by her love of being fit, running, sports, and dance. It was inevitable that she found a job the involved fun and fitness.

Dea has had an amazing experience in the fitness industry, as a trainer and group fitness trainer she has been able to travel the world and work. Growing her knowledge as well as exploring different cultures. She is very grateful that she has been able to work as a trainer not just in her hometown, but around the world.

Apart from making people sweat, Dea loves spending quality time with her family and friends.

Beth –

Group Fitness Instructor

Beth bounds through the club with energy and enthusiasm for all things Group Fitness!

Having been a member at Primal she was inspired to become a group fitness instructor at Primal.

Beth loves working at Primal because she loves to be surrounded by positive people trying to improve themselves.

Beth’s fitness tip is “Treat fitness as a job, you turn up most days for money so why not turn up to the gym most days for your health?”

Sam – Group Fitness Instructor

Sam loves to support, motivate, and push people to the next limit within her group classes! No class is ever the same. Join in one of Sam Radical’s classes and experience the excitement yourself.

Ash- Group Fitness Instructor

Primate from the beginning and now an awesome group fitness instructor. Ash loves to help grow and improve our member’s fitness levels to the extreme.  Come in and try out one of Ash’s pumping power classes.

Scott Upston

 INTRODUCING THE MAN BEHIND THE MADNESS

Read along to find out about our very own Scott’s ventures and accomplishments. We are beyond lucky to have him as the man behind our club with his skills, expertise, and knowledge it’s a no brainer as to why our members succeed and thrive here at Primal Health Club

Scott joined his first gym at the age of 15 and by the age of 17 had enlisted in the Australian Army. Over the next 21 years, he served all around both our great country and the world.

In 2010 Scott retired and took up employment with the Australian Paralympic Committee as the Senior Coach Powerlifting and worked across other programs such as Wheelchair Rugby, Basketball and Ambulant Rowing. Scott has coached at the highest-level Paralympic Games, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, Pacific Games, and Invictus Games. Scott has coached international athletes from several countries including the Netherlands and Papua New Guinea. All his athletes have tasted success ranging from Paralympic Gold, World Championships, Pacific Games, and Invictus Games.

Scott himself has also had success as a strength athlete competing both internationally and nationally in several sports powersports, powerlifting, strongman, and bodybuilding competitions. He has experienced the highs and lows achieving a World Championship in Powersports also “Bombing Out” (no result recorded) at Oceania Championships.

As a coach his philosophy is “round peg, square hole” meaning that he finds solutions and makes them fit for everyone he works with. As an athlete, his mindset is “if it was easy everyone would be doing it”.

Scott currently trains for and competes in ultra-marathons he refers to himself as the “back of the pack elite”! He enjoys the challenge when it no longer becomes a physical battle, but a mental battle also.

His dream has always been to open his own gym – Primal Health Club is that and more. Community focused, it offers up the opportunity for all members of the community to be part of the journey supporting everyone in their health and fitness goals whether it is representing their school, country or just creating a better version of their current selves!
